In recent weeks, Wednesday have been pretty awful. Last week’s 5-0 away loss to Reading not only disappointed fans but made them feel that now relegation was a real possibility for Wednesday. If the Owls wish to get themselves out of the Relegation Zone and stay in the Championship, the home games will be key for the Owls, starting today against flying Leicester City.

While Wednesday were getting battered at Reading last week, Leicester were enjoying a fine 3-0 home victory over fellow promotion contenders Nottingham Forest (who recently beat the Owls at the County Ground)..

Although it all seems to be gloom and doom for Wednesday at the moment, influential Captain Darren Purse who was recently voted as the Owls player of the month, is back in contention to return to the Squad. Wednesday seem to have been poor since he picked up his injury. Winger/Striker Jermaine Johnson also came through training unscathed like Purse, and is also expected to be involved in the set-up a few roughly 2 months out on the sideline with a hamstring injury picked up in Wednesday’s 2-1 away win at Blackpool in January. Injury-Prone Francis Jeffers is also back in contention to make a feature in the squad after also coming back into full training with Wednesday, hopefully Jeffers can hit a bit of form under the new guidance of Boss Alan Irvine. Winger Tommy Miller has also reported to have been back to full fitness, so also Miller could feature in the crucial encounter too.

Wednesday will be entertaining roughly 20,000 fans today, with over 2,500 fans coming up from the Midlands, hopefully Wednesday can send them home unhappy!

Good luck to the squad, we could really do with a win today boys!
