As a Wednesday season ticket holder, it fills me up with pride to know that whenever a fan or infact anyone buys a Wednesday shirt, £1 is donated to the Children’s Hospital. Today, the club are marking the £75,000 mark. It’s been a year since the partnership was forged, and now, £75,000 later the money is really making a difference to kids lives!
The club are trying to hit the £500,000 mark so a specialist scanner can be purchased, but not all the funds are going on the scanner! We don’t know where some of the money goes, most probably on medication etc..But, it’s great that the players visit the Hospital with gifts at Christmas time. It gives the kids a nice surprise to see their footballing heroes and to receive presents, could there be a better Christmas?!
Personally, i believe that the partnership should never be broken with the two clubs. For every shirt that was bought up to 10,000 shirts, £1 was donated. 20,000 shirts, £2 was donated. 30,000, £3 for each shirt, you get it yeah? Why not?!
Think of it this way, it’s just like the club having £1 off each shirt, not going to break the bank is it? Especially when it’s going to a worthwhile cause! On the other side of things, it gives supporters an extra initiative to buy shirts. They can wear the shirt with pride, to know that their club is taking care of the Community! Wednesday also get their fair share of publicity out of the deal, which can only be good, right?
So, let’s build on the £75,000 and continue to back this great partnership!
To all the kids in the Hospital, get well soon!
To everyone who continues to buy Shirts, keep buying!
And, to everyone at the club and the Hospital, keep up your hard work and the rewards will continue to increase!
UTO!
